Pamela Anderson Was Never Actually Legally Married to Her Ex-Husband

It lasted just 12 days, but more details about Pamela Anderson and Jon Peter's marriage are coming to light. According to People, the two were never actually legally married, because none of the necessary paperwork was filed after their January 20 ceremony.

"Legal paperwork for the marriage was never filed," a source told the magazine.

The source explained that Anderson and Peters, a film producer that has big flicks like two versions of A Star Is Born on his résumé, have known each other for decades, but that friendship didn't make for a perfect romantic relationship.

"Although they have known each other for more than 30 years, they had never lived together," the source added. "Living with someone, you truly get to know them. Pam’s a romantic, but she is also very independent … This all moved a bit fast, so they both agreed to put it off."

Anderson told People that the two "remain friends."

Back on February 1, Anderson officially announced the separation to The Hollywood Reporter, saying that she and Peters needed to re-evaluate their situation and requested privacy as they figured things out.

"I have been moved by the warm reception to Jon and my union. We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to re-evaluate what we want from life and from one another," she said. "Life is a journey and love is a process. With that universal truth in mind, we have mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process. Thank you for respecting our privacy."

After the announcement, Peters only had great things to say about Anderson, who he met at the Playboy Mansion.

"Pamela has never seen her full potential as an artist. She has yet to shine in a real way. There is much more to her than meets the eye, or I wouldn't love her so much,” Peters said to THR. "There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but — for 35 years — I've only wanted Pamela."

From 1995 to 1998, Anderson was married to Tommy Lee. In 2006, she married and divorced Kid Rock and she married and divorced Rick Solomon in 2007 and 2013. Peters was previously married to actor Lesley Ann Warren and producer Christine Forsyth-Peters.
