I wear Pandora’s diamond double chain collier necklace around my neck every single day. The lab-grown diamond on the chain sits encased in a golden teardrop, hanging right above my left collarbone. I put it on one day a while ago, liked how it looked, and just never took it off.

Pandora might be known for cupcake and strawberry charm bracelets, but it’s hoping to introduce more customers like me to the pleasures of lab-grown diamonds. Today, the jewelry brand unveils its latest “Diamonds for All” campaign, featuring an array of stars including Pamela Anderson, who’s spent the past year enjoying a hot fashion comeback.

Other campaign faces include model Precious Lee, former model and Vogue creative director-at-large Grace Coddington, American sign language interpreter and performer Justina Miles, actress Amita Suman, model Sherry Shi, and musical artist and dancer Vinson Fraley. Pandora wanted to celebrate creative types who have contributed to style and culture and are also known for their unique personas.

The idea is to promote diamonds as everyday jewelry. In a statement, Pandora chief marketing officer Mary Carmen Gasco-Buisson said, “Our diamonds are not for the few, for a once-in-a-life-time occasion, or only for giving. They represent personal meaning that each of us can create.”

For Pamela Anderson, ethics are just as important as aesthetics. In a statement, the actor and model said, “I like the fact that these are lab-grown diamonds, and knowing the jewelry is crafted from recycled silver and gold makes me feel good about wearing it. It is actually the more radical, kind-of-glamorous move.”

Since August 2022, every single necklace, ring, and earring from Pandora's lab-grown diamond collections has been made with diamonds grown, cut, and polished with 100% renewable energy, and set in silver or gold that is 100% recycled. Although lab-grown diamonds have the same optical, chemical, thermal and physical characteristics as mined diamonds and are graded on the same 4Cs (cut, color, clarity and carat), they have a lower carbon footprint.

The latest campaign features three new collections: Pandora Nova, Pandora Era, and Pandora Tailsman. Pandora Nova features a unique four-prong setting that allows the diamond to appear as if floating in mid-air. Pandora Era reimagines classic bezel and prong setting with a twist: Its 14k gold pendant and bracelet feature three bezel-set stones in a row. And the Pandora Tailsman is made up of five pendant designs with symbols like a heart or star that also serve as the lab-grown diamond's setting.

Overall, the pieces aren't a departure from the brand's signature style as much as an evolution. In a statement, Pandora Creative Director A. Filippo Ficarelli explains, “The Pandora Talisman collection is especially important for us because it takes lab-grown diamonds into a universe that is at the heart of Pandora: the universe of charms.” Clearly, that universe, like our own, is ever-expanding.

Pandora's latest lab-grown diamond collections will be available to shop online and in select stores on August 31st.
