Cook, president of the Membership Board, who announced that the proceeds from this season's Hospice Evening will be directed to Pediatric Palliative Care and Palliative Medicine Fellowships. He also announced that Hospice Evening 2025 will take place on Feb. 6 at The Breakers.

Longtime supporter Summers was honored with the prestigious Hospice Hero Award.

The past chairman of the hospice board of directors and board member of Palm Beach Island Hospice Foundation was recognized for his two decades of significant contributions and steadfast service to the foundation.

“We are grateful for Peter’s service, guidance, and commitment to Palm Beach Island Hospice Foundation and our mission for over two decades,” Cook said. “On behalf of the board, it is an honor to serve with you.”

The Hospice Ambassador Awards, given for unwavering leadership and commitment, went to 2024 Hospice Evening leadership Cook and Karyn G. Lamb, co-chairs; Beau and Jackie Breckenridge, vice chairs; and Gaye and Jim Engel, honorary chair and champagne chairmen.

That's right, champagne chairmen. This is Palm Beach. Of course there are champagne chairmen.

More than 75 people attended.
