Palisades Tahoe Preparing for End of Season Skiing

Palisades Tahoe, CA, will remain open for skiing and riding through Memorial Day, May 27th, 2024. With one of the longest seasons in the country, skiers flock to the self-proclaimed 'Spring Skiing Capital'.

The resort announced how the rest of the season will shake out in an Instagram post. See below.

"As the longest season in Tahoe continues into (third) spring, we know you all are eager to find out what will happen over the next few weeks!"

Officials at the resort reported that temperatures are going to warm up significantly over the coming week. Unfortunately, this means that the resort will not be getting freezing temperatures at night, and the snowpack will start to deteriorate at a faster rate.

Palisades Tahoe also wrote that they plan to "keep chairlifts and terrain open until we just can’t ski it anymore." However, things will close. Specifically, KT and Headwall. While there is no specific date at this time, their operations blog states that "the end is nearing. Get it while you can!"

Palisades Tahoe will do their absolute best to keep the following chairlifts open through the end of the season (which is May 27th): Siberia, Gold Coast, Shirley, and Granite Chief. The report also stated that some beginner terrain may be able to remain open at the top of the Aerial Tram, but that is still to be determined.

Basically, the end of the season is near, so there's no time like the present to get those laps in and search for corn snow. Plus, the iconic lifts KT-22 and Headwall are still open as of right now, so make those a priority.
