Palisades Tahoe Celebrates New Snow, Opening With Very "Limited Terrain"

Palisades Tahoe, famous for its "tremendous snowfall and its California sunshine," was previously seeing neither as last week was warm and wet with no signs of dumping.

That changed over the weekend, as a snowstorm blew into town and laid down a few inches that will hopefully serve as a nice base for more snow to accumulate on.

Officials at Palisades announced that "our upper mountain received up to 4" of new snow in the last 24 hours! Lower elevations saw mixed precipitation, and just about half an inch of snow accumulation by this morning."

Even better, visitors of the Tahoe resort don't have to solely rely on Mother Nature. Palisades reported that the snowmaking team has been working hard for opening day on Wednesday, November 22nd.

Though Palisades self-proclaims the opening day to be "small but mighty", skiers and riders are still likely stoked to get on the mountain and ride First Venture.

In response to social media commentary from followers asking about specific trails and terrain, Palisades commented that "opening day terrain will be very limited but we’re eager to open more terrain as soon as conditions permit."

Small or not, opening days are always worth celebrating. Let's hope a bigger storm comes our way and conditions will improve soon!
