Paige Lorenze loves the U.S. Open. She spends much of her year following the men's tennis tour, supporting her boyfriend, American player Tommy Paul, but when they're in New York, it feels different. "My family and friends get to come, and I love seeing Tommy do his thing and have it so close to home," she tells Town & Country.

The two began dating in 2022, so this past year was her first full season traveling with Paul. "I've been to every single tournament now and coming out of that, the atmosphere at the U.S. Open is the best," Lorenze says. "People are really excited about tennis. It's a pretty rowdy, fun crowd—in a good way. People are really supportive. There's some matches we go to where only two people are rooting for Tommy! It's not like that here."

The world of tennis is newer to her, though she played "occasionally" growing up in New England, but a competitive sports environment is hardly a foreign landscape. She trained as a downhill skier, attending the elite Burke Mountain Academy, and she's still an avid equestrian. "Being an athlete myself and knowing a lot of professional athletes, I really can't think of a harder sport," Lorenze says of tennis. "Mentally, physically, the season is so long, the depth in the sport... no one's safe. Tennis can be a misunderstood because it's [perceived as] a 'country club sport.' But it's not always so glamorous. Their reality is very different, especially Tommy. It's a lot of grinding and it's a lot of hard work." Throughout our conversation, it's clear how proud Lorenze is of Paul. "A lot of people are like, 'Tommy's so underrated!' Maybe if you haven't been paying attention," she says. "When he made the semifinals of the Australian Open, I wasn't surprised. I was like, 'This is where he should be and this is where he deserves to be.'"

Fortunately, her career ensures that she can work flexibly from around the world, as Paul's touring schedule sometimes brings him to far-flung destinations. Lorenze, an influencer, launched Dairy Boy, a lifestyle brand, in 2020. Ahead of the Open, she held her first-ever Dairy Boy event (themed around the tournament, naturally), to launch a new denim line. "It's really cool that Tommy was able to support me at that because his season is so wild," she says. "They really get no time off—so the fact he was there was really special. A lot of my own supporters came, but there were some tennis fans that came to the pop up, which is so fun that our careers can cross over and work in unison. We're really running side by side. For a lot of the wives and girlfriends of tennis players, I would imagine it would be hard to work on the road. Not everyone gets that opportunity, so I feel really grateful that I'm able to run a business while also supporting him."

Over the past year, perfecting the art of courtside style has been essential; at Wimbledon, she even wore the same outfit as Kate Middleton. (Kate wore the mint green Self Portait dress a week after her, and Lorenze recalls when she saw the Princess of Wales in the outfit, "it confirmed to me that I made the right choice of wearing it.") Ahead of Paul's second round match, she share her U.S. Open essentials with Town & Country—from her go-to make-up to favorite heels, and, of course, her camera.

PowerShot G7 X Mark II

Lorenze documents her travels on the tennis tour for her YouTube channel, and opts to shoot with a digital camera. "I had the camera before it became a trend, before the prices went up 300 dollars. I'm not surprised. When you choose this [camera] with flash and then you put a filter over it, it looks like film. I love it." She adds, "Not everyone's trying to be an influencer, but there are so many more influencers now, and so many more people creating content and sharing, so people are trying to differentiate themselves. Especially at tournaments, I love shooting my looks on a really high quality camera to elevate my content. It makes it stand out."

Dairy Boy East Coast Baseball Hat

Often spotted in Tommy Paul's player's box: Dairy Boy baseball caps—either on Lorenze or members of Paul's team. "There's always one person in the box wearing a Dairy Boy hat. I literally love them because I don't even ask them to do it! I'm very close with all of them and they just love and support the brand. It's the sweetest thing."

Odina Platform Sandal

"I borrowed these from a friend, loved them, but I was putting off buying them because they are quite expensive," Lorenze says. "I'm horrible at walking in heels—I think my feet are just messed up from skiing. They are always in pain—but I could walk and live in these heels. They're so comfortable and so worth it. I now have them in five different colors. I wear them to every match!"

DreamBeam SPF 40

Key for the U.S. Open, and all tennis tournaments where she's often sitting in the sun for hours at a time: a good sunscreen. Lorenze's "absolute favorite" is Kosas's DreamBeam SPF 40. "It sits very well on my skin," she says."I find when I'm sitting in the sun all day, I just don't want to see a lot of makeup on my face"

Super Gloss Instant Bronzing Face Drops

"When I'm tan, I don't have to wear as much makeup. So the Tan-Luxe drops are a good little hack. It's just this transparent, pretty tan that covers up any sort of like unevenness or redness. I love wearing simple, bronzey makeup to matches because it gets so hot," she says.

18K Yellow Gold Hoop Earrings

Gold hoops "look good with everything," and she typically throws on a pair to complete her outfit. For Grand Slams like the U.S. Open, Lorenze typically plans her outfits a month or so in advance. "I try to do a month just so I'm not stressed, but now I will buy dresses and [think], I'm gonna wear this to a tennis match. I don't know which one, but I know I'm gonna wear it. Dressing up for matches is so fun."

Pictured here is a T&C Tried & True pair of gold hoop earrings.

Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil

"The Dior lip oil is just so nice and it lasts so long," she says.

Slipsilk Skinny Scrunchies

"I love silk scrunchies! I always have a scrunchie in my purse," she says. She buys them in bulk, often from Amazon, because she loses them all the time. Other courtside essentials in her bag include eye drops, chapstick, and a phone charger.

Outta Love

Lorenze is a fan of her Celine monochroms sunglasses, but is also aware that her followers don't necessarily want to splurge on designer sunglasses. "I always keep a nicer pair and then a more affordable pair with me," she says. "I don’t think there are sunglasses from Celine or YSL that I don’t love, but a super adorable pair I’m always wearing are Le Specs in the Outta Love style."

She adds, "I really love wearing outfits that I feel like people can actually recreate. I wanna wear stuff that people can draw inspiration from, and help people put together outfits, because that is my job."

Farifield Mini Skirt

Tennis spectator style, Lorenze says, evokes Princess Diana, describing it as "classy, feminine, timeless." She frequently turns to the late Princess for inspiration for her tournament outfits, explaining, "I love that she was not scared to be herself and she was sporty and feminine and confident. She was always a little bit edgier. I think a lot of women look up to her style-wise."

Lorenze adds, "I'm not always wearing luxury brand to the tournaments. I don't feel like I need to go buy a $2,000 outfit." Each tournament has their own vibe, and the U.S. Open is like Diana: "a bit edgier." She loves Danielle Guizio skirts for New York, describing them as "modern preppy, and a little bit edgy."
