Padma Lakshmi’s daughter Krishna looks like her twin. And it’s not just during their many recent red-carpet appearances together — Krishna has been an exact replica of her famous mama since she was a child!

The Top Chef alum shared several throwback photos of Krishna throughout the years to celebrate her birthday on Tuesday. In the first one, Krishna is just two, where she had a birthday cake with a gorgeous coral icing flower on top and two candles. Lakshmi leans forward to smile at her daughter, and Krishna smiles back, with the same cheeky grin, gorgeous eyes, and brown hair.

In another picture, Lakshmi holds Krishna at a carnival, where they are dressed like twins in black pants and white t-shirts. They even both have their hair in two pigtails! Krishna has a little Minnie Mouse tattoo on her arm, and she looks so stylish.

There’s also a video of Lakshmi and Krishna playing in the snow, a video of a young Krishna dancing in a pink tutu with a blue wig, and a video of the mother-daughter duo dancing by a body of water with mountains in the background. From posing in matching clothes to making similar expressions on a helicopter ride, these two have always looked alike.

Slide to the last photo to see a gorgeous present-day snap of Lakshmi and Krishna. Lakshmi wears a a green sari and gold earrings. Krishna is in a black tube top and a green skirt, with a headband over her dark brown hair. They are both holding hands and looking back toward the camera, looking more like twins than mother and daughter.

Lakshmi, who shares Krishna with businessman Adam Dell, brought her daughter to the 75th annual Emmy Awards in January. She told Entertainment Tonight at the time, “It’s really nice to enjoy the Emmys with Krishna! This is her second time because, you know, she’s also put up with a lot,” Lakshmi shared. “She’s grown up on set; she’s used to her mom being on the road, and so it’s nice to also share the fun, beautiful bits with her.”

Krishna called the special night “the most fun in the world,” telling ET, “Getting ready is half of it, and then meeting all these amazing people who I look up to is insane.”

It can be hard watching your baby grow up, but it also comes with many special parts as well. It seems like Lakshmi is embracing it all!
