Padma Lakshmi Posted A Bikini Shot To Instagram And Vowed ‘No Retouching Up In Here’
If you are a celebrity and have a body, chances are you've been shamed for it. Internet trolls are always taking shots. You're either too perfect (must be Facetune!) or you're not perfect enough (why didn't you Facetune?). So when Padma Lakshmi shared a bikini shot to Instagram Thursday, she prefaced it with a telling hashtag: #Noretouchingupinhere.
"100°F this weekend. 'Perfect.'😅," she captioned the 'gram, while vacationing in East Hampton. "#nofacetuneeither," she added. The au natural post has garnered upwards of 50,000 likes, but more importantly, quite the show of online support. Fans and fellow celebs alike hit the comment section with praise for Lakshmi's authenticity.
"All natural beauty! Love it babe! 🔥😻🔥," one user wrote. "If that’s what 48 can look like...I’m inspired!!!!!!" another added.
This isn't a first for Padma. Just last year, she shared a similar, inspiring beach photo to celebrate her birthday. "Sometimes in the entertainment industry I don’t think we give women that chance," she wrote. "In truth, I feel better about my body now, even after breastfeeding, gravity, etc. than I did in my 20’s. I’m not riddled with insecurity as I was. I eat well and bust my butt in the gym. My home life and my career are doing just fine and I’ve learned to be thankful for what I have rather than focus on what I don’t. To many more years of learning and growing."
