Paddle Out for Mikala Jones Announced for Huntington Beach
The surf world has been mourning the loss of Mikala Jones following the the news of his fatal surf injury in the Mentawais earlier this month.
As those who knew and loved him work towards healing and finding peace, services and paddle outs continue to take place worldwide.
The day after Bali's Canggu Beach was packed with people celebrating Jones, another paddle out has been announced in Huntington Beach later this month.
Huntington Surf & Sport captioned the post:
"MIKALA JONES
MEMORIAL PADDLE OUT
Northside, HB
Friday, July 28, 9am
Please join us in celebrating MIKALA JONES beautiful LIFE.."
The invitation says, “Please bring your own leis or flowers, there will be limited amounts for family & friends.”
Visitation and cremation services followed by a paddle out took place in Bali over the weekend. They were held at Canggu Beach, where Jones resided during his time living in Indonesia.
Mikala’s friends and family including his daughter, Isabella, Mick Fanning, Rizal Tanjung, Love Hodel, and Betet Merta came together for the Bali paddle out. Isabella Jones is one of many people helping to spread the word for the one in Huntington Beach.
