The cinematic debut of Paddington was one of the most unexpectedly charming family films of 2014, and its forthcoming sequel looks every bit its whimsical equal. And this time Michael Bond's marmalade-loving creation is facing off against Hugh Grant!
This film sequel sees Paddington (voiced by Ben Whishaw) unravelling the mystery of a thief who has been targeting establishments in the community of Windsor Gardens, with his suspicion falling on a faded actor (Grant) who may have turned from local stardom to petty crime.
Somewhere along the line Paddington is wrongfully accused of the crimes, but teams up with Brendan Gleeson's incarcerated prisoner and his fellow inmates (all of whom are dressed in very fetching Wes Anderson-esque uniforms) to clear his name and solve the case.
Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins and Julie Walters reprise their roles from the first film, alongside newcomers including Sanjeev Bhaskar, Joanna Lumley and Richard Ayoade. Paul King, the man behind the original film, has returned as director and co-screenwriter.
Paddington 2 is released on November 10.
