Every time I've had to hoist a larger-than-life sofa up a winding staircase, I've instantly heard Ross Gellar's screaming voice in my head, telling me to "PIVOT!" with each step. The iconic Friends moment is far too relatable to those who've had to move massive pieces of furniture, but now, with Ikea's newest collection, you won't have to worry about that dreaded pivoting at all!
Called Råvaror, the new collection includes 20 new products: a daybed, a sofa, tables, a mini kitchen, storage solutions on castors, textiles, and lighting. Every one of these items is "designed with optimization of space in mind, where flexibility and the ability to be easily moved are key ingredients," according to Ikea's press release. This means no more frustrating home moves—especially up flights of stairs—because each piece featured in Råvaror can be broken down into a packable, easy-to-carry size.
This furniture collection was specifically designed for smaller spaces, and it was based on its ability to help make a tinier space feel more homey right away, even if you're planning on moving to another place in the near future.
"With Råvaror, we wanted to create key items that have a new level of versatility, functionality, and simplicity. And when it is time to move, it should be easy to pack everything up, stack them together, and relocate them to your next home,” says Viveca Olsson, creative leader of Ikea Sweden, in a press release.
The Råvaror collection will be available across the globe in September of 2020.
