Although the Black Sabbath frontman seemingly retired from playing live, Sharon noted that this isn’t the case. “I think I told you about it the other night, but now it’s been announced, we can talk about it,” Sharon said to host Piers regarding the festival. She added, “He’s doing a show October 6th in America. It’s at the Coachella site. And he’s there and it’s gonna be a great show: Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, AC/DC, Ozzy…”

After Piers, 58, said that “the rocker is still rocking,” Sharon responded,”He never stopped. No, no, no, he never stopped. He’s back.” The Power Trip festival will take place at the Empire Polo Club In Indio, CA, on Friday, October 6th to Sunday, October 8th. Ozzy Updates Fans On His Health After Tour Cancellation

In March, Ozzy expressed to fans that at the time while he was sick, he would have hit the road again, if he could. During an appearance on SiriusXM‘s Ozzy’s Boneyard show, he opened up about being in “constant pain” but also “working my guts out to try and get back on my feet.” Ozzy added, “I’ve come to the point where Sharon says to me, ‘You know what, the truth of the matter is, you can’t keep booking tours and failing, cancelling.'”

He also stressed to listeners that even despite everything, he still would tour if it was possible. “The only thing I’ve got that keeps me going is making records,” he said, adding, “But I can’t do that forever.” He went on, “I gotta get out there.”

Ozzy first shared the devastating tour cancellation news with fans in an Instagram post in February, explaining that a spinal injury from a 2019 accident was preventing him from touring.

The Grammy winner wrote in a statement for his 5.3 million followers, “I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required.”

Ozzy Officially Cancels All 2023 Tour Dates

The “Mama, I’m Coming Home” singer sadly added,”Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way.” He went on, “My team is currently coming up with ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country.”

The “Crazy Train” hitmaker also stressed that ticket refunds for fans would be available at the point of purchase, and noted that while his singing voice was “fine,” he felt that his body was “physically weak” after having “three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment.”

Ozzy’s Ailments And Health Battle History

Ozzy, as fans know, has suffered several physical ailments in the past few decades. In 2003, the “No More Tears” singer was in an ATV accident in which he almost died, after his quad flipped onto him as he rode around his London property. That same year, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

In 2019, the “Paranoid” crooner underwent an operation after a bad fall and had surgery on his neck, which he has said greatly impacted his nerves. In an interview with The Observer, the “Iron Man” artist said, “With the pressing on the spinal column, I got nerve pain.”

Ozzy added, “I’d never f—ing heard of nerve pain. You know when you’re a kid, and you’re playing with snow and your hands get really cold? Then you go in and you pour on hot water, and they start getting warm? And you get those chills? And it f—ing hurts? It’s like that.”

Sharon also opened up to the outlet about his back issues, saying, “The screws had come loose, and were chipping away at the bone. And the debris had lodged under his spine.” In June of last year, he also underwent a “major” surgery, according to his wife, that could’ve “determined the rest of his life.”
