Up until a few months ago, I really disliked using nonstick pans. Even though my fellow editors raved about them, I didn’t trust them. I had cycled through a few too many “nonstick” pans that lost their nonstick magic at a shockingly fast rate and led to one too many stuck eggs. But OXO’s Ceramic Professional Non-Stick Frypan changed all that. Now? It’s one of my go-tos.

What’s So Great About OXO’s Professional Non-Stick Frypan?

I have been using this OXO pan for six months now and can confirm that it is scratch-resistant, lightweight, and, well, nonstick. I’ve used it to sauté veggies, sear protein, simmer sauce, and, most importantly, cook eggs — lots and lots of fried eggs. I’m surprised at how much I like the pan and how often I use it, but I guess I should’ve expected that this pan would be a home run — OXO’s cookware (and honestly, everything from the brand) comes highly recommended by other editors at The Kitchn.

I’m not precious with it, either — this frying pan is just that durable! It’s general knowledge that you shouldn’t use metal utensils with a nonstick pan because it can scratch the coating, but in the chaos that is cooking for two young kids in a tiny kitchen, I have definitely broken this rule more than a few times and my pan still lives to tell the tale. I’m going to chalk it up to the diamond-reinforced ceramic coating.

And while I’m confessing, I’ve also been guilty of stacking another pan on top of it for storage (I have a small kitchen, remember!). Again, after six months, it’s still looking and performing great. If I had more space at home, I’d buy a second pan to have as a backup — especially because it’s on sale for Black Friday.

The OXO pan feels bigger than other nonstick pans I’ve used in the past. With steep sloped sides, there’s more surface area to work with and the generous, flat bottom means oil won’t pool to the sides for uneven cooking.

OXO says the pan is dishwasher-safe, but the real estate is too precious in my tiny dishwasher. I prefer to hand-wash my pan and have found that it’s easy to clean — despite the 10-inch diameter, it still fits in my sink without any awkward maneuvering.

If I had more space at home, I’d buy a second pan to have as a backup because it’s been so reliable and durable — and because it’s on sale. Now through November 25, all OXO cookware is discounted by 25% for Black Friday with the code BLACKFRIDAY, which means my pan is down to just $44.99 from the usual $59.99 — it’s a worthy investment that I’m glad I made after all these years.
