There are some beauty products that are simply so buzz-worthy they need no introduction. One such product is the Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum, the super luxe blend of 22 plant oils that is raved about all over the internet for it's youth-preserving, skin-healing, glow-giving properties. (Not to mention, Gwyneth famously loves it.) But there's another product within the Vintner's Daughter small-in-the-best-way-possible range, the Active Treatment Essence, and I am here to tell you that it is worth it.

Now to give you a little rewind, I happen to love the Active Botanical Serum and have chosen it for our beauty awards many years in a row. It is the perfect blend of efficacious luxury that I go back to season after season. But the Active Treatment Essence fills a very different role in my simple weekly routine. On the days when I am using a liquid exfoliant (never at the same time as a retinol or a vitamin C product, just FYI), the Active Treatment Essence has become my go to. Not only is it hydrating, but the trademarked phyto-ferment enlists the help of 70+ nutrients alongside micro-exfoliating plant-acids and enzymes to reveal a brighter, healthier, and more radiant complexion, theoretically in about three weeks of use. However, in my own experience, I see the results overnight.

With a couple of drops in my palm, I press the essence into my cleaned skin, wait a few for it to absorb and proceed to the rest of my routine. Not only do I find that I get results when my routine is pared down to just this treatment as an active, but it also works great in tandem with a routine with more variety. I'm not saying I want to ever have to choose between the Active Treatment Essence and the Botanical Serum, because that would be cruel. I am saying though that the essence deserves as much attention as it's older sibling.

If that isn't enough to sell you, I'd say that this is a great alternative for another editor-loved product: Biologicque Recherche P50. Better still: Vintner's Daughter is 100% natural, doesn't contain synthetic fragrance, and is packaged sustainability. From top to bottom, the Active Treatment Essence is worth it.
