Remember back when nutritionists revealed eating pizza for breakfast is actually healthier than enjoying a bowl of cereal? Not only was that the best day of my life, but apparently it was a good day for more than half of Americans.

As it turns out, a recent poll revealed that 53 percent of survey respondents prefer pizza for breakfast. But not just pizza, ladies and gents, because that would be too obvious. Over 50 percent of Americans prefer cold pizza for breakfast. In other words, if given the option of eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes, waffles, or cold pizza, they'd pick the cold pizza over any of your standard breakfast foods. And honestly, same.

The survey was conducted by Slice-a delivery service specifically for ordering the pizza of your dreams-to better understand Americans' pizza preferences since orders (whether that's toppings, crust thickness, amount of cheese, crispiness, et cetera) are so diverse.

The survey began with questions about toppings, including pineapple, which was rejected by 54 percent of the 9,000 respondents (this is not high enough, in my humble opinion). Something a bit more surprising, though? New York-style pizza (specifically cooked in a gas oven) isn't preferred. Instead, wood- or coal-fired Neapolitan crusted pizza won.

It is, of course, important to emphasize the fact that the survey participants were Slice users, so they are obviously pizza-enthusiasts to begin with. A.k.a. having a majority opt for some 'za over eggs in the morning isn't all that crazy. Because naturally, they stan pizza if they're on the app-for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, cold or hot, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health.
