Over a Foot of New Snow at Copper, Thanks to April 15th Storm

It's been a wild winter in North America, culminating in a barrage of spring storms that have brought late-season powder days (no one is complaining about that, of course.)

Summit County, Colorado is the latest to cash in, receiving over a foot of snow in the past 24 hours. Copper Mountain shared a photo of their snowstake on Instagram, which measured 18 inches of fresh frozen precipitation.

Locals (and lucky visitors) woke up this morning to an a foot-and-a-half of powder at Copper. On April 16th.

Copper captioned the photo on Instagram, "18” April pow day. That is all. ❄️"

That's a great surprise.

Breckenridge said they received 6 inches on their snow report, then amended the total, writing on their Instagram, "Ullr has returned! 6 inches on the snow report might've been a little but conservative 🧐".

The extended forecast is looking pretty sunny in the area, so this spring powder day is a thing of beauty and provides some more accumulation for future slush laps.
