Over 300,000 Air Fryers Recalled Nationwide Due to Burn Hazard

If your air fryer matches this recall, stop using it immediately.

A popular air fryer is being recalled nationwide, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. This is due to a malfunction that can cause a burn risk.

Empower Brands is recalling 319,000 of their PowerXL DUAF-10 and DUAF-005 Vortex Dual-Basket Air Fryers that were sold at Target, Walmart, Kohl’s and other stores across the U.S. They were also sold online through these retailers’ websites and other sites.

According to the CPSC, the plastic connector used for combining the two food baskets inside of the air fryer can break during use. This can pose a burn hazard. The brand has received 41 complaints of the air fryer breaking during use, including three reports of burn injuries.

If you purchased one of the impacted models from August 2021 through October 2023 for between $60 and $190, stop using the air fryer and contact Empower Brands for a full refund.

For questions or to request a refund, contact Empower Brands toll-free at 866-704-9370 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or online at prodprotect.com/recall/duaf or powerxlproducts.com and click on “Important Safety Recall Notice” for more information.
