From Town & Country

Outlander's Caitriona Balfe ditched the wool shawls this evening for a strapless dress. The actress just arrived on the Golden Globes red carpet wearing a black and maroon look, which she accessorized with pointy-toe pumps, a top-handed bag, and jeweled hair clips.

Balfe is nominated this evening in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series for her role of Claire Fraser on the popular Starz time-traveling drama. While this is her fourth time being nominated for the award, she has yet to clinch the prize. And once again she's up against tough competition.

The other women in the running include reigning award-winner Elisabeth Moss, for her role in The Handmaid's Tale; Keri Russell, for the final season of The Americans; Julia Roberts for her first-ever starring role in a TV series (Homecoming); and Sandra Oh for Killing Eve.

While Balfe looked gorgeous at tonight's show, it will be hard to top last year's event, where she confirmed her engagement to her longtime boyfriend Tony McGill on the red carpet.

“It happened over the break. I’m very happy,” she said, showcasing her beautiful engagement ring, which features a round diamond in the center and two smaller sapphire stones on the side.

Balfe also made a statement with her ensemble last year, wearing a striking black gown in support of the Times Up initiative. "I stand in solidarity with my fellow actresses in wearing black today to say #timesup @timesupnow 🖤" she wrote on Instagram about her wardrobe choice.
