It's very on brand for him.

Everyone's favorite Highlander is wishing you a happy St. Patrick's Day.

On March 17, Outlander star Sam Heughan took to Instagram to give fans a peek at his plans for the popular holiday. In the new selfie, Heughan posed in front of his Sassenach premium blended Scotch whisky and wrote, "Happy St Patrick’s Day! Raising a dram to all our Celtic friends."

But that's not all, as he cheekily added, "Give you a guess what I’ll be drinking… 😉SLAINTE!"

It didn't take long for fans to send back well wishes. One fan commented, "Happy Saint Patrick's Day...Sláinte!" Another chimed in, "Slainte 🥃 🍀"

One follower decided to pull out a joke, however, adding, "I’m guessing Jameson Black Barrel??Just KIDDING!"

As for Heughan's Scotch brand, it's lovingly named after Caitriona Balfe's character Claire Fraser. For those unfamiliar with the Starz series, Heughan's Jamie Fraser calls Claire "Sassenach," meaning an English person, throughout Outlander.

While Sassenach is typically not a loving term, it's been rebranded into a pet name thanks to the epic love story at the heart of the period drama.

However, fans should brace themselves to hear "Sassenach" less in the future. In January, Starz confirmed that Outlander would end with an eighth and final season.

"What an incredible journey with an incredible fanbase," the network wrote on Twitter at the time. "Outlander has officially been renewed for an eighth and final season."

The end is still some time away, as Outlander just wrapped its seventh season in February.
