Sam Heughan's spirits empire continues to grow. The actor, who stars as Jamie Fraser in the popular time-travel drama, has expanded his palate even further from his already successful whiskey and tequila bottlings with The Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin.

Distilled (of course) in Scotland, the gin brings flavors of apples, berries, and classic juniper, along with hints of rhubarb, toasted oats, pine and heather, for a sip that's like a trip to Scotland in a glass.

First launched in June 2023, Heughan announced the venture on his Instagram with a video introducing the bottle and it's carefully crafted flavors, writing in the caption, "So proud! I personally spent so much time, tried and tested all the botanicals available in Scotland and then came up with this unique batch of 8 botanicals, inspired by home, in the south west of Scotland."

Heughan made his first foray into the spirits world in early 2020 with a whisky brand called, appropriately, The Sassenach Whisky. The following year, he upped the ante with news of a tequila offering in partnership with El Tequileño, The Sassenach Select, making his new gin the third spirit to join his Outlander-themed empire.

Heughan first shared the news of the gin project last year in an understated post featuring the gin's name.

He followed that up with a longer video introducing the gin itself. "We have been working on something I'm really proud of, the Sassenach gin. It's going to be a Scottish gin. Using all of the finest botanicals and ingredients from all around Scotland," he said. "It's been a long tasting process but we are almost there, it's in the final stages. I'm really excited. I love a gin and tonic. I love a martini. And our gin is going to work perfectly in both. It's going to be ready by summer next year."

In a later post to his TikTok, Heughan revealed, "I'm here in America, in Santa Monica, and I am tasting lots of little bottles of gin to make the finest gin and tonic as we are creating the Sassenach gin. I can't wait to share it with you."
