Whether he's busy writing books or starring as Jamie Fraser in the Starz hit series Outlander, Sam Heughan always has his finger on the business pulse. By the looks of it, his hard work is paying off. Most recently, the 42-year-old Scottish actor raised a glass to one of his ventures after it received high praises.

On July 11, the Men in Kilts host announced that Sassenach Spirits, the scotch whiskey he launched in the U.S. in March 2020, earned Gold at the 2022 International Spirits Challenge. Unsurprisingly, Sam was ecstatic about the big news, which he shared in an Instagram video. In the clip, he confidently walks through a set of double doors while holding a bottle of the winning drink.

"Taking home another Gold!" he captioned the Instagram video. "Way to start the week. @sassenachspirits 🥇 #SassenachWhisky #SpiritOfHome #Whisky."

Without skipping a beat, Outlander fans were just as thrilled by the award news. Many took to his Instagram comments section with celebratory messages. "Congratulations! Our favorite and only whiskey my husband and I drink!" one fan wrote. "Woooooooooowww how many of them I can not count 👏👏🥃," replied another. "Imagine thinking The Sassenach wasn’t worthy of being Gold. Can’t relate 🤷🏻♀️ CONGRATULATIONS 🍾🎊🎉 🥳✨✨," a different follower commented.

In case you're wondering what the award is and why it's such a big deal to the Starz actor, it was actually up against lots of competition. According to the competition's official website, the International Spirit Challenge receives "entries from nearly 70 countries worldwide" and it is recognized by connoisseurs as "the international standard for quality and excellence."

But this isn't the first time the Sassenach has gotten notice since its launch. Back in September 2021, the Clanlands author announced his version of one of Scotland's national drinks won a Double Gold medal at the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition.

We're super excited to see all the accolades Sam is getting, and we look forward to hearing about more! Now, if only he can give us an idea of when season 7 of Outlander will be back on our screens. That would make the win just a bit sweeter!
