Frontgate's New Outdoor Furniture Collection Was Curated By House Beautiful Editors

At House Beautiful, we love our homes inside and out, and when it comes to decorating our backyards, patios and decks, we're always looking for sources of great design. One of those go-to sources is Frontgate, a furniture brand known for creating collections to make your outdoor space feel like an extension of your home. So, we decided to team up with them and curate our first ever "Summer Like House Beautiful" collection, which will have you spending the entire season outdoors.
This collection began with the most important element of any outdoor living environment: seating. House Beautiful Style Director Robert Rufino and Market Director Carisha Swanson worked with the Frontgate product team to find just the right look for House Beautiful. We landed on Cadence. This collection is the perfect blend of sophistication and low-maintenance care, with super comfy, deep cushions. Its mixed weave pattern in all-weather wicker is woven by hand over a powder coated aluminum frame built to handle the heat of the summer. Rufino's take: "It’s like the perfect indoor set made weatherproof.”
While we love a great furniture grouping, it wouldn't be House Beautiful if there weren't other materials and patterns in the mix! We added in accent pieces in teak, including the Bowery lounge chair, with it's delicate sloping arm and more oversized trellis detailing, looks distinct from any angle. And tables, made from a composite of all-weather crushed stone that gives each piece the look of natural stone.
The color palette feels perfect for any elegant backyard soiree, with wide striped pillows in French blue and soft pinks, complementing the more sun-bleached stripe on the outdoor rug. Two of our favorite pieces are all about flexibility. The first is the Peratta Woven Console Table, which easily collapses when not in use, but I'm not sure we'd ever fold it up. It's removable oversized tray makes entertaining a few or many, a cinch.
"The clean, simple design of this piece makes it so versatile—I love that the tray comes off to serve up everything from cocktails to canapés, and the whole thing folds flat when not in use," says Rufino. Our second favorite, but close runner-up, is the Teak Prism Umbrella Table. This unique setup allows for your umbrella to live anywhere you need it to block the sun, not just over the center of the dining table. It works with any of Frontgate's outdoor umbrellas, but we're partial to the Resort Stripe...because, well, we're partial to resorts!
