Outdoor Afro And REI Co-Op’s New Inclusive Outdoor Collection Is A Traveler’s Must-Have
For their third year together, Outdoor Afro Inc. and REI Co-op will launch new experiences, gear, and apparel. Outdoor Afro Inc., founded by Rue Mapp, is a for-profit organization that aims to address the needs of the Black community and remove design barriers in the outdoor sector. This mission aligns with that of REI Co-op, the premier specialty outdoor retailer dedicated to increasing outdoor recreation.
The new spring gear line showcases graphics created by artist Chelsea Alexander. Alexander is well-known for her collaborations with numerous international brands and founded Sqwigl. Skyward 4 Tent
The Skyward 4 Tent emphasizes Black joy, natural connections, and increased inclusiveness in outdoor activity. The tent panels, trims, and large transport duffel all feature an original Outdoor Afro + REI Co-op collaborative print created by artist Chelsea Alexander. This Nature Nap Satin Pillow also showcases a print created by Chelsea Alexander as part of the Outdoor Afro + REI Co-op partnership. Recycled ripstop nylon fabric with a non-fluorinated DWR finish is what you’ll find in the Flash 22 Pack. It helps water bead up on the surface. The built-in mesh hip belt provides ventilation and comfort when not in use. An integrated sleeve with a reservoir hang loop (reservoir not supplied) and exit ports allow the sip tube to be routed over either shoulder in the hydration-compatible design.
