Orlando Bloom Shares a Rare Glimpse Into Life With His 2 Kids & The Sweet Way They Spend Time Together

Orlando Bloom’s films were a staple of my childhood — and I still watch Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean! But now, he is working on something for the next generation, which his 3-year-old daughter Daisy, who he shares with fiancé Katy Perry, will enjoy: an appearance in the three-part Peppa Pig wedding special! To promote this new venture, Bloom gave a rare insight into life with Daisy and his son Flynn, 13, who he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

Family Time

In an interview with PEOPLE published today, the Red Right Hand star shared what family time looks like for his blended family.

“Family time is, for me, a meal together. Sitting down at a table,” Bloom told the outlet. “It is going out on a walk or going on an adventure. It’s games, it’s play. It’s connection.” He added, “It’s holding hands and hugging. And telling people you love them a lot.”

So sweet! Even though Bloom’s kids both have two famous parents, they seem to be so down-to-earth and relatable when it comes to spending time together. He really highlighted the important things in life — like play and connection and simply going for a walk! — and we love seeing him so firmly in his dad era.

Blended Family Vacations

In fact, quality time is so important to Bloom, that he even brings his ex-wife and her family with him and Perry on family vacations. The Australian model, who is mom to Flynn with Bloom and sons Hart, 5, Myles, 4, and newborn Pierre, with husband Evan Spiegel, told Access Hollywood in Sept. 2023 about how she is co-parenting with her ex.

“Well, when Orlando and I separated, we just said, ‘Listen, at the end of the day, the most important thing is that Flynn’s needs come first, not ours,’” Kerr told the outlet. “So whatever we do, ‘is this in the best interest of Flynn?’ and that’s kind of how we’ve navigated it.”

“It’s incredible because, you know, now with Evan as my partner for the last nine years, and now we have our family, and Katie and Orlando have Daisy, it’s like we’re a blended family!” she continued, adding, “And we go on family vacations together, we enjoy each other’s company, it’s great!”

The Power of Play

Perry also believes in the power of play (if you’ve ever seen one of her music videos, then you know!). The “Teenage Dream” singer addressed her daughter at her Katy Perry: PLAY residence show in Las Vegas in Nov. 2023, where her daughter made her public debut.

“Daisy, I love you so much,” the “Hot n Cold” singer told her daughter from the stage. Later, she told the audience, “I created this show after the birth of my daughter, Daisy Dove. When I met her, it was like all the love I was ever searching for finally showed up.”

She continued, “She made me whole, and she healed me, and she showed me how to play again. So, this show is for everyone’s inner child and for the hope that maybe if we could all see life through the eyes of a child, we would be free.”

This heartwarming blended family seems to have it all figured out!
