  • Orlando Bloom got a tattoo of his son’s name, Flynn, on his forearm in Morse code.

  • Orlando’s tattoo was misspelled—instead, it says “Frynn.”

Ah, don’t you just love it when celebrities get tattoos? You never know what’ll end up being your next tat inspo and what’ll end up being a cautionary tale! Today’s latest celeb to get new ink is Orlando Bloom, who was itching to get inked up again after debuting a huge tree chest tattoo. Let’s discuss!

Orlando decided to stroll into a tattoo shop to get some fresh new ink to honor his 9-year-old son, Flynn. (Orlando shares Flynn with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.) Instead of getting something big and gaudy, Orlando opted for a minimalistic design in Morse code (bc ~trendy~) to spell out Flynn’s name, birth date, and birth time on his forearm. Sounds cool, right? Well, it does...until you find out that Orlando’s tattoo artist actually spelled Flynn’s name wrong. 😬

Orlando shared the picture of his tattoo on his Instagram, writing, “New tattoo, can you guess who?” Most of Orlando’s fans guessed that it had something to do with Flynn, but one person had more of an eagle eye than everyone else in the comments section.

“If the Morse code is supposed to spell out Flynn, then there is a mistake,” one of Orlando’s followers wrote, revealing that the order and number of Morse code in the tattoo spells out “Frynn” instead of “Flynn.” This means that Orlando accidentally pulled an Ariana Grande—alright, he may not have gotten something as bad as “teeny BBQ grill” on his arm, but having his child’s name misspelled is also not great, if ya ask me.

The good news here is that both Orlando and his tattoo artist, Balazs Bercsenyi, know there is a mistake in Flynn’s name. Balazs made his own Instagram post about doing Orlando’s tattoo and wrote, “A beautiful reminder for @OrlandoBloom of his son. And yes, a dot is missing, we know, it will be fixed.”

Thankfully, Orlando’s son is too young to know Morse code and Balazs makes it sound easy to fix! All’s well that ends well.
