Orion Art Gallery relocates to Watertown

May 2—WATERTOWN — Orion Art Gallery and Studio has moved from Alexandria Bay and set up shop at 327 Mullin St. in Watertown.

A soft opening was held Wednesday, and the artists will continue to move in before the gallery's grand opening on May 18.

Several of the gallery artists, including managing partner William Christopherson, live near the city, and their new workplace was chosen due to its proximity to home.

Artwork of many mediums is displayed on the walls, in hallways, on shelves or directly on the floor of the new site, which includes several rooms.

Colorful landscape paintings by Christopherson and Stephen Yaussi, sculptures of the human form and pottery by Kristy Hoover, along with jewelry by Kat Mereand, are a few of the works that visitors can stop by to admire, or purchase.

The gallery will also be holding art classes in a classroom area, for those wishing to learn studio skills.
