Fans have been reeling over the news about the newest Pretty Little Lairs spin-off, Original Sin, which was just picked up. While they might be hoping to see all their favorite characters back together in Rosewood, the show is actually going to be completely different than the OG and even has a different showrunner. Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will be bringing the brand new series to life, leaving fans wondering about original PLL creator, I. Marlene King.

Shortly after the news was revealed, King opened up about the Pretty Little Liars fandom and their support.

"The #OGPLL fans are the most passionate, loving and loyal in the universe. Thank you for all of your support. We are family forever. I love you. #PLLFamily #OGPLLFamily," she wrote on Twitter.

Janel Parrish, who starred as Mona in the original series and one of its spin-offs, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, retweeted I. Marlene King's tweet and wrote, "What she said. Love you @imarleneking."

Roberto also replied to her tweet with three hearts, showing that the two showrunners are on good terms.

In the spin-off's initial announcement, Roberto and co-writer, Lindsay Calhoon Bring, mentioned I. Marlene King in their statement.

"We’re such huge fans of what I. Marlene King and her iconic cast created, we knew that we had to treat the original series as #canon and do something different," Roberto and Lindsay said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "So, we’re leaning into the suspense and horror in this reboot, which hopefully will honor what the fans loved about the hit series, while weaving in new, unexpected elements."

We'll have to wait and see whether I. Marlene King gives her official stamp of approval. Until then, fans can check out the original series on HBO Max, which will also be the home of Original Sin when it premieres.
