An Original Cast Member Is Coming Back to ‘Below Deck’

From Men's Health

  • Below Deck is coming back for an all-new season on November 2nd.

  • An OG face is coming back to the show as bosun: Eddie Lucas.

  • Here are the whereabouts of Eddie since he last graced TV screens in 2015.

Get ready, Below Deck fans—your favorite series is coming back sooner than you think, and it looks like a familiar face is joining the new crew, too.

With the popular Bravo series making its return to the Caribbean for an eighth season, it’s clear that Captain Lee can’t survive alone with a completely new crew on the My Seanna. Coupled with long-time cast member Kate Chastain leaving the show the previous season, the stud of the sea is going to need some serious backup to help make this charter season succeed. And the person he brings with him is an OG face fans haven’t seen grace their screens in almost five years—it’s bosun Eddie Lucas.

As much as Eddie did a fabulous job in the top deck position, fans are still a bit scarred from him cheating on his then-girlfriend with third stew Rocky Dakota back in season three, only to gaslight her when he denied their trysts in the laundry room. If that doesn’t leave a bad taste in your mouth, we don’t know what will.

But a new season means new beginnings, right? Hopefully the last five years have given Eddie some time to think about his wrongdoings and prove to Captain Lee—and fans alike—just how much he’s grown as a person and bosun. Come November 2nd, we’ll be able to see Eddie in action.

Here’s a little bit of info on what he’s been up to before the series premieres:

He hasn't stopped working on boats.

Despite not being seen on the series since the third season, it doesn't mean he's stopped working on boats entirely. According to BravoTV.com, during his time off the show, Eddie earned his 1600-ton license and has been working on tugboats (where he's now first-mate) in Baltimore, Maryland since 2016. Sure, it's not necessarily a 180-meter yacht—but at least he has some authority as to what happens on deck!

And if fans are wondering whether Captain Lee is alright with Eddie returning to the show—it seems like he has no problem with the bosun's maritime skills. According to Eddie's official LinkedIn page, he's endorsed by none other than the stud of the sea himself. Talk about receiving a good recommendation.

He appears to be single, according to his Instagram.

Fans clearly remember the debacle Eddie and Rocky went through while trying to hide their sexual romps in the laundry room (which prompted Bravo to install cameras there for the rest of the franchise). While Eddie revealed to Andy Cohen during BD's 100th episode celebration on Watch What Happens Live that he stayed with his then-girlfriend for a while longer after the season aired, the romance didn't end on such a happy note for the bosun.

"No, we worked on it for a while," he told the talk show host when prompted about his previous relationship. "It ended worse than ever."

While fans are going to have to wait for the new season to see if Eddie strikes a boatmance with any of the female cast members, as of right now, he appears to be single, judging by his Instagram account. Let's hope he stays that way this season, too.
