Oregon Ski Resort Helps To Remove Over A Ton Of Trash And Invasive Species From Local River

Mt. Bachelor is getting our attention this morning for their help in cleaning up the Deschutes River.

According to a Facebook post that was published on August 10th, 2023, the resort partnered with the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council to remove 2,400 pounds of trash and invasive species.

Check out the recap video below:

Mt. Bachelor: "That's a wrap on the Deschutes River Cleanup 2023!

In collaboration with the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council, we helped to removed an impressive 2,400 lbs of litter and invasive plants from the Deschutes River—all in a day's work.

A massive thank you to all the volunteers who pitched in. Together, we're ensuring our river remains clean and healthy, so we can all Play Forever."

The Deschutes River is a landmark of Central Oregon. The river runs through the heart of Bend, OR and was lifeline for Native American tribes that inhabited the area for thousands of years.

Good on Mt. Bachelor for stepping up to plate as a steward of the environment, and as one of the loudest voices in the region.
