Order of de Pineda announces 2023-2024 debutantes to be presented at December event

The Order of de Pineda will present its 2023-2024 debutantes during a December event.

The organization's traditional black-tie dance will follow a formal presentation of the debutantes on Dec. 22, Order of de Pineda President Michelle Mueller Moffit announced via a news release.

The 10 local residents will be presented at the Corpus Christi Country Club.

The debutantes are Ava Catherine Bell, Eleanor Secrest Ehrman, Lauren Olivia Guerra, Mallory Hale Gulley, Whitney Hale Hammonds, Frances Mathilde Lee, Mary Margaret Lovoi, Sarita Louise Pettus, Lillian Genevieve Smith and Sophia May Wigington.

Ava Catherine Bell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Patrick Bell, Jr. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Patrick Bell, Sr. of Corpus Christi. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jose Antonio Canales of Corpus Christi. She attends Texas A&M University at College Station where she is a member of Kappa Gamma sorority.

Eleanor Secrest Ehrman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Joseph Ehrman. Her paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Richard Ehrman of Orange, Texas.  Her maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Roland Secrest Robertson of Corpus Christi. She attends Clemson University where she is a member of Sigma Kappa, Dreamcatchers and the Organization and Outreach Committee.

Lauren Olivia Guerra is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Guerra. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Eli Guerra of Corpus Christi. Her maternal grandparent is Mrs. Ludivina Zuniga of Corpus Christi. She attends the University of Texas at Austin where she is President of Sigma Alpha Omega sorority.

Mallory Hale Gulley is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Bryan Gulley. Her paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barth Gulley of Corpus Christi. Her maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Overton Randolph Hale of Corpus Christi. She attends Texas A & M University at Corpus Christi where she is a member of Tri Delta and President of the Pre-Law Society.

Whitney Hale Hammonds is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Howard Hammonds II. Her paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Willard Howard Hammonds, Sr of Corpus Christi. Her maternal grandparents are Mrs. Donald Ward Rucker, Jr. and the late Mr. Donald Ward Rucker, Jr. of Corpus Christi. She attends Texas A&M University at College Station where she is Treasurer of TAMU Women in Aviation, Vice President of Financial Women’s Organization and a Member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

Frances Mathilde Lee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Monty DeArman Lee. Her paternal grandparents are Reverend and Mrs. Donald DeArman Lee of Bandera, Texas. Her maternal grandparent is the late Mr. Donald Arnold Ocker of Corpus Christi. She attends the University of Texas at Austin where she is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and Vice President of Internal Recruitment for UT Panhellenic Council.

Mary Margaret Lovoi is the daughter of Dr. Michael Stephen Lovoi and Catherine Crosswait Van Zandt. Her paternal grandparents are Mrs. Vincent Lovoi and the late Vincent Salvador Lovoi. She attends Texas Christian University where she is a member of Kappa Gamma, Frogs for Pediatrics at Cook’s Childrens Hospital and Alpha Epsilon Delta for Pre-med.

Sarita Louise Pettus is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Milam Pettus III. Her paternal grandparents are Dr. Lou Anton Carter and Mr. and Mrs. John Blain Kennedy of Corpus Christi and the late James Milam Pettus II of Goliad. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Browning of Corpus Christi. She is attending Santa Clara University where she is President of the Students for Sensible Drug Policy and Research Assistant on the Everyday Peace Indicators for Policy Innovation team.

Lillian Genevieve Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shannon Kyle Smith. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward William Smith of Corpus Christi. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Guiberson Rhodes of Corpus Christi. She attends Texas A&M University at College Station where she is a member of Kappa Gamma sorority.

Sophia May Wigington is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Glenn Wigington. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Dale Wigington of Boerne, Texas. Her maternal grandparents are the late Colonel John Pellek and Mrs. Pellek of San Antonio, Texas. She attends Vassar College where she is a member of The Sustainability Program and a Trevor Zoo Intern.
