Orange Is the New Black’s Danielle Brooks Is Engaged to Boyfriend Dennis Gelin
A nice shiny diamond is the new black for Netflix actress Danielle Brooks, who got engaged to boyfriend Dennis Gelin before the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve.
“I never thought one of the best days of my year would happen the last week of the year,” the Orange Is the New Black star revealed on Instagram. “I get to marry my best friend. We’re ENGAGED!! So excited to become your wife. D&D until the end.”

Brooks also checked herself into an adorable location, “On Top of the World,” in her elated proposal post. Their couple name “D&D” made a resurgence in Brooks’s Instagram Story as well. “Might be the end of the year but only the beginning for us,” she wrote.
The future bride is best known for her role as Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson in OITNB. Her new ring appears to be a large diamond on a gold band. There’s no word yet on the designer, but an early possible lead is Christian Siriano, a frequent collaborator with Brooks for red carpet appearances.
It’s been an exceptional year for the actress, who welcomed a baby girl in November 2019.
