Oprah Shines In White Dress For Her Portrait Reveal

She finished off her look with a statement ring, a brown watch, and her hair in a half-up half-down ‘do with bouncy curls. It’s clear that her weight loss journey isn’t just about shedding pounds; it’s a celebration of self-love and a fashion-forward expression of the incredible woman she continues to become.

She shared a clip of her reaction to the portrait as it was revealed, and also wrote a heartfelt caption on Instagram along with the video: “God can dream a bigger dream than you could ever dream for yourself. Of all the dreams I’ve had, I didn’t even know there was a national gallery to dream and aspire for. From Mississippi to the National Portrait Gallery in the nation’s capital, wow. Thank you to @warrenart for the heart and the love you took in capturing my essence. Thank you to Lonnie Bunch, Rhea L. Combs, Kim Sajet and the @smithsoniannpg for this honor. And to anyone reading this, I can’t wait for y’all to visit the portrait and meet her!”

Oprah Gets Candid About Her Health Journey

While talking with PEOPLE, Oprah opened up about her experience of being in the public spotlight and discussed the impact of comments about her weight that she has encountered throughout her career.

“It was public sport to make fun of me for 25 years. I have been blamed and shamed, and I blamed and shamed myself. I was on the cover of some magazine and it said, ‘Dumpy, Frumpy and Downright Lumpy,’ I didn’t feel angry. I felt sad. I felt hurt. I swallowed the shame. I accepted that it was my fault,” she revealed.

As for being candid about the fact that she uses weight loss medications along with her diet and lifestyle modifications, she said: “I now use it as I feel I need it, as a tool to manage not yo-yoing. The fact that there’s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for.”
