Oprah Winfrey Hosts Stylish Dinner Party in Maui for Ava Duvernay's 50th Birthday

Oprah really knows how to throw a party!
Oprah Winfrey is honoring her best friend in the best way possible!
The former talk show host and one of her best friend's, filmmaker Ava Duvernay, jetted off to Hawaii for a 3-day birthday celebration, and Winfrey couldn't help but flaunt the lavish dinner party she planned for Duvernay's milestone 50th birthday extravaganza.
Winfrey showed off her transition skills in an Instagram video as she displayed the before-and-after of the chic dinner setup. In the clip, Winfrey stood in front of the table saying, "Okay so this is the before," and put her hand in front of the camera before the snippet quickly cut to reveal the "after" of the beautiful decor.
In the footage, the media mogul can be seen wearing a yellow silk two-piece ensemble featuring fluffy feathered sleeves, as she rocks a gorgeously-embellished long braid. She went on to say how she thought the team who set up the dinner "did a beautiful job."
The camera quickly cut to another clip that featured the Selma producer wearing a colorful pink dress. "Trying not to totally lose it, I got a long way to go tonight," Duvernay said after she saw the immaculate tropical setup.

Duvernay left a comment on the video, writing, "Excuse my ugly cry! But this transformation! This loveliness! This gift of a gathering! Everything!!!!!!!!! 😩😩😩"
The official Oprah Daily Instagram account even chimed in showing love with, "We love you in party mode ❤️ Also can we talk about those feathers and that braid 😍😍😍😍"
The guest of honor shared multiple posts on her Instagram to show her gratitude for Winfrey and everything that was done to plan her lavish milestone celebration.
"Words can’t describe the exquisite week I’ve had. Pictures can’t capture the dazzling love I’ve felt. It’s all too massive. Too magnificent," she wrote in the caption of the first series of photos, adding, "A time that I’ll long remember and hold close, to warm me. And guide me into my new decade."
She concluded her note by showing appreciation for her dear friend. "Thank you, @oprah. I don’t have language for how this feels. I trust that you know. Bless you for this gift. For this time. For this friendship beyond words."
Duvernay went on to post another carousel of snaps along with a baby photo of herself with an extended letter of thanks.
The pair have been close friends for almost 10 years, previously working together on multiple projects including Selma, A Wrinkle in Time, and hit Hulu series, Queen Sugar, where they both serve as executive producers.
