Oprah’s favorite loungewear set is my go-to airport outfit — and it should be yours too

If you're planning to travel for the holidays, you may be on the hunt for a new cozy airport outfit. Luckily, I found an option that's as comfortable as pajamas but polished enough to hit the town in after you land. And it's got Oprah's seal of approval to boot! The Spanx AirEssentials Wide Leg Pant and the AirEssentials Half Zip both made Oprah's Favorite Things List this year (and last year too!), and I love them as much as she does.
Lovely on its own or as a layering piece, this cozy half-zip has quickly become my go-to sweater for travel days.
I was first introduced to the cozy pieces when Oprah declared her love for them back in 2022. “You might know Spanx for its shapewear, but it also does fantastic cozy clothes," Oprah said. "When I tell you this set feels light as air, I’m not kidding. It’s my new leisure suit. The perfectly loose-and-lightweight fabric is like buttah!”
It might sound extreme, but buttah is the perfect way to describe these ultra-lightweight silky smooth and incredibly soft pieces. While they are as comfy as your favorite PJs, the matching set makes you look much more put-together and fashion-forward than your tired old sweats — making it ideal for travel days. The top and bottoms are super breathable and keep me warm without making me overheat.
Since I got the throw-on-and-go set last year, I’ve worn it every time I’ve had a flight and long train or car ride. I rock it to run errands, lounge around the house and any other time I want to be cozy. Both the pants and the pullover are made from a premium lighter-than-air fabric that has four-way stretch so they're ridiculously comfy but also flattering.
While I tend to wear the two pieces together, they look just as good paired with other items in your wardrobe. Gwyneth Paltrow proved this point when she wore the half-zip with leggings.
