Oprah Winfrey’s new book Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier is out now.
Winfrey says this book is “your blueprint for a better life.”
Winfrey celebrated the book’s release on Instagram with co-author, Arthur C. Brooks.
Oprah Winfrey has had so many titles—lifestyle mogul, talk show host, actress, and author—and now she’s adding another book to her resumé, sharing her secret to a happy life. Winfrey and Harvard professor Arthur C. Brooks (who teaches courses on happiness and leadership, as well as authors the popular “How to Build a Life” column), have come out with a new book, Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier, which debuted just this week.
Winfrey shared the exciting book launch news with an Instagram post, posing with Brooks and their new book for a picture. She captioned the post: “Our new book ‘Build The Life You Want’ is available now wherever you buy or download your books! We hope this book helps you on your life’s journey. May you get happier, year after year, and bring greater happiness to others.”
In a recent Instagram post, Winfrey shared how she first connected with Brooks: “I started reading @arthurcbrooks’ column in @theatlantic called ‘How to Build A Life’ during the pandemic and it quickly became something I looked forward to every week. It was all about what I’ve always cared most about: living with a life of purpose and meaning. I called him and we quickly developed a friendship.”
She said that that friendship then turned into a co-author partnership: “We had many, many conversations and we finally met last year at my tea house (pictured here) to turn those conversations and shared philosophies into our new book, Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier. In the book you’ll find our advice, science-backed work plan, and the blueprint for a better life.”
In Build the Life You Want, Brooks and Winfrey begin a journey toward greater happiness, bringing the reader along for the ride, no matter how challenging your circumstances. Using cutting-edge science and the authors’ years of helping people translate ideas into action, they show you how to improve your life right now instead of waiting for the outside world to change, the book’s description says.
