Fact: Oprah Winfrey has excellent taste—in, well, everything. In the beauty realm, she’s enlightened me to an ultra-flattering makeup brand. Similarly, I’ve discovered Fount Society, an under-the-radar skincare line, via her 2023 Favorite Things List.

The brand’s Balancing Face Mist has become a mainstay in my otherwise revolving-door skincare collection. That said, I’ve yet to try what is, ostensibly, Queen O’s favorite Fount Society product: its best-selling Body Butter, which she specifically selected for her aforementioned list of must-haves last year.

As is customary for Winfrey-loved items, the lotion has flown off virtual shelves, and proven nearly impossible to procure in the recent past. Currently, however, the sublime skin-smoother is back in stock. Better yet, as an InStyle reader, you can shop it 20 percent off through May 12. Simply use the code INSTYLE at checkout.

Fount Society

The Fount Society Body Butter is a rich, creamy, emollient—yet surprisingly lightweight—lotion, formulated with plant-based ingredients and very little else. Perfect for all skin types, it traps moisture within seconds post-application, and leaves skin feeling supple and soft, sans any semblance of greasiness. Furthermore, the formula is fragrance-free, making it all the more pure, and perfect for anyone who’s sensitive to scent.

Shea butter is a key ingredient, and responsible for much of the lotion’s creamy texture. As cosmetic chemist Dr. Shuting Hu previously told InStyle, shea butter offers oils that “easily melt into the skin,” and deliver “incredible” hydration. Harvested from a West African tree nut, shea butter also “contains a high amount of fatty acids and vitamins," Dr. Hu noted, calling the ingredient a “fantastic” skin-softener.

Fount Society’s Body Butter is also spiked with squalane, yet another hero in the suppleness-inducing domain. Specifically, squalane derived from olive plants, which delivers baby-like softness plus an antioxidant boost to protect against environmental skin-agers.

Shoppers share Winfrey’s predilection for Fount Society’s Body Butter. “My skin is greedy for this stuff,” says one reviewer, who says the “whipped” formula “feels so luscious.” Similarly, another fan says the butter is perfect for their “dry, sensitive, mature skin,” while yet another shopper, who has used “a lot of body butters” reports Fount Society’s performs well “beyond [their] expectations,” thanks in part to its non-greasy skin-feel.

FWIW, I’m typically averse to rich body creams—yet Oprah’s recommendations have never led me astray. Ergo, I’m snapping up Fount Society’s Body Butter while I still can—and nabbing a jar for my lotion-loving 71-year-old mother, too. Shop quickly; if history repeats itself, as it often does, Oprah’s favorite body lotion is bound to sell out yet again.
