New Opening: The UAL Xhibit 2018

Each year, University of the Arts London—a university specializing in art, design, fashion and performing arts, made up of six separate colleges—puts on an exhibition to showcase the next generation of talent from its six world-leading colleges poised to hit the art world. For 2018, a group of 32 artists have been picked, working across a variety of disciplines. From a mixed-media sculpture exploring domestic violence, to a virtual reality experience demonstrating institutional racism, and even a prototype of a product that can alter the appearance of your pet, the exhibition is a curation of bold, thought-provoking pieces by UAL’s talented graduates. “It’s great to get an insider’s view on the next generation of talent coming out of UAL,” said Director of the Tate Modern and UAL Honorary, Frances Morris. “I was especially struck by the range and diversity of practices platformed in the final 2018 Xhibit selection. The works display a raw talent and a keen sense of political issues, that showcases just how exciting emerging artists can be.”

UAL Xhibit 2018 runs from April 19 - May 12 at the Bermondsey Gallery.
