Opening Ceremony and Birkenstock Team Up for Glitter Sandals

Opening Ceremony has officially teamed up with Birkenstock, a German shoe company known for its sandals and clogs. Together, they plan to bring a lot of glitter to a previous normcore trend.

Beginning on April 2, shoppers can get their hands on two different pairs of Birkenstock shoes that feature a sparkly makeover courtesy of Opening Ceremony, High Snobiety reported. Opening Ceremony added the colorful glitter to two traditional styles of the sandals. Fans of all things sparkly can choose between the Boston, a "signature slip-on clog," and a two-strapped sandal called the Arizona.

The shoes made their official debut on the runway of Opening Ceremony's recent spring fashion show, which was held at Disneyland.The evening featured glitter from head to toe, with models sporting a number of looks that featured everyone's favorite mouse, Mickey. A number of the products that debuted during the show — including glitter low-top sneakers — are already available online.

High Snobiety reported that the sparkly Birkenstocks will be available online and in Opening Ceremony stores starting Monday, April 2. The Boston will retail for $155 and the Arizona will cost $145...and both will deliver all the sparkle one could ask for.
