Open-air Asian bazaar returns to San Diego this weekend

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The 626 Night Market is returning to San Diego this weekend, with organizers saying it will be “bigger than before.”

Previous markets have been held in downtown and at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. San Diego’s Mission Valley Mall will now host the event, which is slated for April 5-7. The address is 1640 Camino Del Rio N.

The famous Asian bazaar, which was named after the 626 area code region of San Gabriel Valley, started in northeast Los Angeles back in 2012. Due do its popularity, there are now seven different market locations as well as smaller popups — like this event.

According to event organizers, those who stop by will have dozens of street food, merchandise and craft vendors to browse through. There will also be cultural art, crafts and games, as well as music and entertainment.

The family-friendly event is open to those of all ages.

Single-day admission to the 626 Night Market is just $3 presale and $4 the day of. Three-day weekend passes are also on sale for $6. Children under the age of 3 are free.

Event parking is also free while it lasts.

Some vendors are cash only, so be prepared with some bills on hand.
