OnlyFans Creators Are Breaking Their Silence On How Much They Actually Make, And I'm Truly Floored

Recently, an adult content creator, Monica Huldt, revealed she's made over $750,000 on OnlyFans. This got me thinking...what's everybody else making on this platform?!

To solve this mystery, I asked the OnlyFans creators of the BuzzFeed Community if they'd be comfortable sharing what they earn from the platform. Here's what they shared:

Please note that we cannot confirm the validity of each claim made in these submissions.

1."I stream for a living and make six figures a year keeping it light and sticking to one streaming platform. I like the lax hours of working from home myself, but an extra motivated person can make an outstanding income regularly. I consider my income to be more than enough for me, my husband, and our three cats."

2."I make $20,000 a year. I'm not a big name, nor do I have any ‘clout’, so considering the average monthly income for all creators, I’m doing shockingly well."

3."I just reached 20K monthly subscribers after being on it for two years, and I've earned just short of $300K total. There are people who earn way more but also maaaany people who earn $1–2K monthly."

4."I’ve ranged $150–$800 a month on OnlyFans since starting it. I currently make around $250 a month on average, posting a few nicely posed/edited images four times a week. The site essentially has no internal traffic or consolidated 'discover page', so my subscribers are exclusively fans from my webcam work (I hate using social media, which is necessary to bring in any outsiders). People who make fabulous amounts on the platform nearly always have huge followings before joining the website. A lot of gossip and reporting on OF tends to miss this in favor of parroting sensationalist (and highly unrealistic/rare) success stories. With all this said, I’m happy with my OF. I don’t put a huge amount of work into it, so it’s just like a nice little padding every month, but not my main income."

5."I was a 40-year-old, married, successful pharma rep when I started selling four years ago on Facebook. Long drives and hotel nights inspired me to have a little fun and start a side hustle for vacations for my family. I made about an extra $25–30K a year by selling my nudes, video chats, customs, and sex vids through Messenger. I had daily requests for an OnlyFans page during the pandemic, and begrudgingly set an account up for those who needed a budget-friendly option as prices are greatly reduced on the Walmart of Porn (what I liken OF to) comparatively."

"Unlike some in-demand creators who have teams and a manager handle sexting for them, I strive to keep my interactions authentic, so I'm limited to my waking hours in between my kids, husband, and day job. I reached top .07% in 2021 by collabing with another woman on Twitter who was not on OnlyFans. After that, my page blew up so much that I had to tell the guys to stop sending money for customs because I didn't have time to get to them all.

That year, I grossed $189K just on OnlyFans (not counting what I made on Fansly and through Facebook). After losing my pharma job in a merger, I decided to go full-time as a creator. I ramped up my efforts by flying to collabs in Vegas, Palm Springs, and LA. I paid thousands to be advertised on other top creators' pages. Although it's a lot of fun to make your own schedule, be your own boss, get paid to flirt, and write off travel to go have sex with a pile of hot people, I wasn't making enough to sustain my family's lifestyle, so I had to get another full-time job back in corporate America."

6."I have about 30 rotating fans who are loyal clients, but beyond that, my OnlyFans gets very little attention. I make about $50 a month in new/recurring subscriptions, and depending on how many custom videos I can crank out in that time, I usually cap out around $300 a month. It's no bill-payer."

8."I made less than 2,000 CDN a month — it was almost 10,000 CDN a month before the celebs started taking it over. Celebs are making it their own and stealing business from us hardworking creators. I had to go back to my old job because we just can't compete with a celebrity fanbase, and I have a mortgage and three kids to support."

10."I've made $67K on OnlyFans. It's a lot of work and it's not easy money unless you already have an established following from another platform like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc. To actually earn a living, you have to constantly upload new videos weekly. You can also make an extra 5% by referring other creators to the platform."

13."I earn about $50 a month on OnlyFans. I’m a very specific niche: Black, trans-masc, and faceless. It’s a cute chunk of change when I can sell pay-to-view content alongside my monthly, but I also sell on adult clip sites and other 'fan' subscription services. At the end of the month, I can make a little over $100. It helps pay the bills and I get to express my sexuality on my own terms, so I call it a win!"

14."My account is free to subscribe to and I've made just over $1K in a year simply by selling pictures of my feet. Some pictures are more revealing than others, which is where my earnings come from. There have been a few guys who have wanted to be 'shamed' for being attracted to my feet so sometimes it feels like blackmail, but they tell me they want that experience. We establish safe words if my 'forcing' them to pay is too much for their wallets at the moment, but they love it. I never want to force people for pay for an experience they don't want, so that's why my account is free and they can choose to request other content (as long as I'm comfortable with it) as well. Making money is nice, but I'm not compromising my morals for a buck."

15."The first year I did it (October 2020–2021) I made approximately $1,000 a month ($12K in the year). Now it’s closer to $500 a month because I don’t put as much time and effort into it."

16."I've been on OnlyFans on and off for a few years, and the most I've made in a month was approximately $100. The market is still oversaturated, and despite catering to fetish content and taking requests (plus a lower-end sub-price), I'm currently not making much. You have to do a lot of self-promoting which can lead to your accounts getting deleted."

"Reddit is a great place to promo, but doing it on Instagram or TikTok can get your whole account banned, even without showing nudity. I post NSFW content and I do take requests, plus I post nearly daily, and because I have no prior following, I'm currently sitting at $8 in my statements section. Making $750K is POSSIBLE but is NOT the norm, and so many people think that it is 1.) easy work, and 2.) quick money. Sex work is draining, mentally and physically, and can also be extremely dangerous, and the glamorization and romanticization of it are so, so dangerous."

20."I've made $1 million. It's getting hard to keep my profile low and hidden from friends and family. I am trying to come up with a new business to invest in or start as a way for me to segue into a new life where I won’t be constantly looking over my shoulder. All in all, it has been a great experience, and money has been a big part of it as it allows me to find time to do what I love, and go where I like, whenever I want."
