Only Murders in the Building, Hulu's cozy murder mystery comedy, has just finished its third season. While there may have been a fear among some fans that the show's fancy apartment building-set murder mystery format could potentially have gotten stale in its third iteration, the show's execution during a strong third season and tense, funny finale made it clear that Only Murders in the Building is still as enjoyable as ever.

Season 3 centered on the murder of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd), a movie star playing the lead role in Oliver's play. On opening night, he drops dead (and then rises from the dead, and then is pushed down an elevator shaft to his death once again), which means everyone in the cast is a suspect. Of course, the investigation gets complicated quickly as Oliver doesn't want his play to be in jeopardy despite a murderer possibly in his cast. He also is desperate to protect one of his actresses (Meryl Streep) who he's hopelessly fallen for (and who has a secret of her own).

We first got a tease as to what Season 3 would be about during the Season 2 finale, when the series jumped forward in time and gave us only a few moments of Oliver's play. The same transition occurred in Season 1, when immediately after the main characters solved the murder, another resident of the Arconia ended up dead. Season 3 gives that same kind of tease toward Season 4.

And—great news—coinciding with the show's Season 3 finale, Hulu revealed that Only Murders in the Building was officially returning for a Season 4. Here's what we know about the show and its next iteration.

Is Only Murders in the Building Returning for Season 4?

Yes! As if the cliffhanger at the end of the Season 3 finale—more on that in a little—wasn't enough to give it away, Hulu announced on the day of the Season 3 finale that Only Murders in the Building had been officially renewed for Season 4.

When will Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building come out?

We can be hopeful that Only Murders in the Building will return for Season 4 in the summer, when each of the previous three seasons have debuted (Season 1 was in August, Season 2 a bit earlier in June, and Season 3 once again in August).

What will Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building be about?

Entering major spoiler territory here, but it seems like the Season 3 Only Murders finale has already tipped the show's hand on what the Season 4 murder mystery will be. After the premiere of Death Rattle Dazzle, Charles-Haden Savage's longtime stuntdouble, Sazz (Jane Lynch) showed up needing to talk with Charles and ready to join the festivities. Charles sent her up to his apartment to get a fancy bottle of wine... and she got shot through the window.

We don't know if Sazz is actually dead or if someone will get her help in time to save her life (either way, this is bad). But one conclusion we can draw? Given her outfit/get-up/where she was... someone was trying to murder Charles.

Season 4, you cannot get to us soon enough.

Who will star in Only Murders in the Building Season 4?

Although we don't have a release date yet, we do have some early indications of who could appear in the upcoming season. According to Deadline, Eugene Levy has officially been announced as a recurring guest star for Season 4. Molly Shannon and Eva Longoria will also be recurring. Oh, and fan favorite Meryl Streep? She's coming back too. It's looking like potentially the biggest season yet.

It's safe to say the main cast—Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin—would all return. And given the closing events of Season 3, it seems very possible that Jane Lynch could have a larger role as Sazz than her previous guest starring pop-ins.

That's all we know for now, but check back in later as we get more news.
