Only Jennifer Lopez Could Make Suspender Pants Look This Stylish

While the idea of suspenders might conjure up images of Wall Street or Western cowboys, Jennifer Lopez is proving why they can actually be an asset to anyone's spring closet.

Yesterday, J.Lo continued her casual style streak while out and about in Los Angeles with fiancé Ben Affleck. The multi-hyphenate wore a white T-shirt with a pair of light gray, high-rise suspender pants, which she cinched at the waist with a black Chanel belt bearing the house's double-C logo. On her arm, she toted a black Hermès Birkin bag. She kept the rest of her accessories to a minimum, wearing a pair of tinted sunglasses and white zip sneakers from Roger Vivier.

Meanwhile, Affleck slipped out of his usual T-shirt-and-flannel uniform and into something a little different. The Tender Bar actor wore a cream sweater, gray trousers, and blue sneakers.

Lopez has previously relied on suspenders to complete her look, pairing them with towering heeled booties, as well as a cropped tube top.

Lopez and Affleck announced their engagement for the second time this past April, with Lopez detailing the proposal in a special edition of her newsletter, On the JLo.

"Did you ever imagine your biggest dream could come true?" she wrote. "Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, 'is that a yes?' I said YES of course that's a YES."
