I Only Drink This One Coffee All Spring Long
As the co-author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Coffee & Tea, I’m a definite coffee snob. I despise flavored coffees and require boiling water for my morning brew to reach the proper temperature, whether through a French press or pour-over method. (Drip coffee makers? Not my jam.)
That said, on a recent overnight trip to Getaway’s tiny-house cabin in Southwestern Michigan, where I knew space would be tight, I packed packets of Copper Cow Coffee Lavender Pour Over Coffee ($16 for eight) to use over three mornings. (Spoiler alert: I’d tried them before and was a huge fan.) Bringing a French press and a coffee grinder into the already-small kitchenette would have made the cabin feel even more cramped.
I’m also a sucker for a good story. Founder Debbie Wei Mullin developed this product not just so we coffee-lovers can drink coffee on the go, but as a nod to her Vietnamese heritage. While sweetened condensed milk (not included in each box, but single-serve packets can be ordered separately) is added to traditional Vietnamese coffee, these coffees taste decent enough without it.
All you have to do is open each packet, rip off the top of the mesh pouch with coffee grounds, and pour hot water (just below a boil) into the pouch so the coffee grounds are submerged. Keep doing this until the cup is full. I recommend waiting just two more minutes to start sipping, so it’s fully steeped.

I can’t think of anything better than waking up each morning to delicious coffee that’s doing its part to treat the world right.
