Admittedly, I have this bad habit where the moment money hits my checking account on payday, I’m already looking for a place to spend it. This isn’t new; even as a kid, my grandma would say that money burns a hole in my pocket. But, I’m taking things one step at a time — so rather than trying to quit my spending habit cold turkey, I’m just trying to be a bit more responsible about it. My biggest rule: Payday purchases have to be on sale. So, obviously, I set out to find the weekend’s best sales and found four you’ll want to shop, including Nordstrom’s designer-packed Fall Sale and Gap’s sitewide Friends and Family Event.

Nordstrom Fall Sale
Nordstrom just launched its Fall Sale to hold us over until Black Friday, and it’s shockingly impressive with 9,500-plus deals up to 60 percent off. Designer and shopper-loved brands lead this sale, with discounts on everything from Coach to Levi’s, but there are four items in particular I’m eyeing. These high-waisted, wide-leg jeans by Mother, a brand that’s recently been worn by both Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, are currently half off and already in my cart. The loose design is on-trend for this year, while shoppers rave that the jeans are “perfect.”
I’m also loving this lavender Kate Spade bag, these waterproof knee-high boots, and this now-$22 shacket customer say is “super comfy” and “perfect for layering during this autumn chill.”

Gap Friends and Family Event
I have something to confess. The first thing I did this morning was shop Gap’s Friends and Family sale (after seeing Jennifer Lawrence in a red hoodie, I needed one). But who's to say I’m done? With 40 percent off all full-priced items at Gap (the discount is automatically applied at checkout), I might as well grab a few more timeless pieces. According to shoppers, this turtleneck T-shirt is the “perfect layering piece” that’s “very light and tucks in easily,” which you could of course pair with the brand’s CashSoft Crewneck Sweater when temperatures dip. The cashmere-like sweater is available in 13 colors, though I’m once again leaning cherry red thanks to this Emily Ratajkowski look.
This is also a great time to finally grab 2023’s hottest shoe while the brand’s Velvet Mary Janes are on sale for $36, as well as the trouser trend Jennifer Garner and Meghan Markle have worn.

Lillusory Sweater Sale
Amazon brand Lillusory is a knitwear staple, and right now a number of its best-selling pieces are up to 59 percent off thanks to double discounts. This two-piece sweater set that includes a pair of tapered pants and a slouchy crewneck sweater is just $36 now thanks to an extra 10 percent on-site coupon. “[It’s the] perfect fall outfit,” wrote one shopper who described the set as well-fitting, “comfortable, and attractive.” Other on-sale items include this casual half-zip sweater, a classy button-front cardigan, and a sweater dress customers say is “comfy,” “actually warm in cold weather,” and gets them “so many compliments.”

Alo Yoga, the athleisure brand that’s been worn by countless celebrities and supermodels including Katie Holmes and Hailey Bieber, has an under-the-radar sale section not many people know about (but which you and I will be shopping this weekend). The best deals from it include this pair of high-waisted leggings, which boast more than 1,400 five-star ratings, as well as this high-impact bra “larger bust” customers say is the “best support [they’ve] had in years.”
