These One-of-a-Kind Handmade Hair Bows are the Ultimate Holiday Gift for Yourself

The fashion flock has long recognized the virtue of a prettily packaged present: a simple ribbon—stolen from a logo-stamped box and loosely looped around a ponytail or knotted at the end of a braid—adds a soigné streak to any ensemble. Thanks to Bianca and Red's handmade bow barrettes, though, one need no longer repurpose their trimmings.

"I just kind of went nuts," says designer Teresa Mascia, who's spent the last three months in her Santa Fe studio crafting the one-of-a-kind accessories, which can be found at Desert Vintage and Williamsburg's Quiet Storms. Made from hand-dyed fabric remnants from her label's airy frocks, the styles run the gamut from skinny striped Italian cottons and chiffons in shades of cranberry, lemon, and walnut to sheer organzas—with even more to come in 2019. "There are so many possibilities." For now, the supersized silk—its long, light ends trailing down the back—makes a great start.
