In One Ear: Clever corps
For informational diversion with a humorous twist, go visit the Portland District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Facebook page. They’re the clever folks who bring you the annual cat and dog calendars featuring oversized pets lounging on, or playing with dams, ships, etc., and the photo shown (corps’ caption added).
The page encourages interaction, saying they’re “always just a DM (direct message) away!” Some of the exchanges are particularly silly, especially when a “bot” named Elna started getting fresh.
One commenter noted, “I am dead after reading these comments. My husband will be in contact.” The corps replied: “ ... About your husband: Should I be ... worried? ‘Will be in contact’ is just cryptic enough to sound vaguely threatening to someone who overthinks everything, which I do.”
