Once Used for CrossFit, Reebok Is Now Making the Nano a Training Shoe for All Types of Workouts

Although the franchise was created for the needs of the CrossFit athlete, with its latest iteration of the shoe, Reebok has evolved the Nano to work for all types of fitness enthusiasts.

The athletic brand revealed the Nano X1 today, a look it has dubbed “the official shoe of fitness.” Reebok called its Nano X1 “the most refined iteration of the popular training shoe,” and created it to be its most supportive, comfortable and versatile training shoe ever.

To hit all of the needs of the fitness fanatic, Reebok created the Nano X1 to offer the comfort of a running shoe with the ability to handle the workout needs of people who enjoy HIIT, boot camp, boxing and other ways to stay fit.

It features the brand’s Floatride Energy cushioning and a sleek shape and design aimed at offering maximum speed. Also, for the first time, Reebok will deliver the shoe with multiple upper material options such as the soft and breathable Flexweave Knit and the durable Flexweave Grit for extreme workouts.

“Just like any great athlete who’s always looking to hit their next PR, we are not going to stop trying to set a new one either when it comes to creating great product. And we’re confident, the Nano X1 is our best training shoe yet,” Reebok senior product manager Tal Short said in a statement. “During a time when fitness is so critical to not just our physical, but more importantly, our mental well-being, we’re incredibly proud to be able to support the fitness community with a product that can help individuals and athletes of all levels train at their best.”

The Reebok Nano X1 arrives Feb. 3 in men’s and women’s sizing on Reebok.com and at select retailers for $130. However, the brand will offer the limited-edition, all-black with reflective hits “I’ll Call You Back” Nano X1 colorway today to Unlocked members via Reebok.com. The shoe, Reebok said, was made for those who make time “to shut out the background noise and distractions” to work on themselves.

Also, Unlocked members will have early access to the other iterations of the shoe on Jan. 29.

Also, to celebrate the launch of the Reebok Nano X1, the brand recruited several athletes, trainers and other fitness leaders to appear in its “Official Shoe of Fitness” campaign. Notable athletes with appearances include four-time CrossFit Games champ Rich Froning Jr., model and actress Camille Kostek, NFL star T.J. Watt, fitness influencer Terron Beckham and several others.

The effort was created to show the versatility of the Nano X1 through their own ways of staying fit.

“Whether it’s putting in the work during an intense bootcamp or just having fun trying out the latest dance craze, Reebok’s new Nano X1 gives me the support I need,” Kostek said in a statement. “I love how lightweight and comfortable it is for any type of exercise, yet stylish enough for all day wearing. In a time when I’m especially missing the in-person support I rely on from my favorite group fitness classes, it’s been the training partner I’ve needed to keep me motivated and feeling my best.”
