Find Out Which ‘Once Upon a Time’ Original Stars Will Return for the Series Finale
Once Upon a Time‘s series finale will be a bittersweet goodbye — but it’ll be slightly sweeter thanks to the return of some additional original cast members. We already knew that Jared Gilmore was planning a comeback in the final season, but according to new reports, a handful of other characters will be returning to wrap up the fairy-tale’s final chapter, too.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) will appear in the second half of the series finale.
Morrison, Dallas, and Goodwin had all been with the ABC series since the very beginning, which makes them particularly popular among the show’s fans. De Ravin joined the cast in season 1 and earned herself a spot as a series regular by the second season. All four left the show when season 6 wrapped, although both Morrison and de Ravin appeared in one episode earlier in the current season.
Morrison, Dallas, Goodwin, and de Ravin will join others who are returning to mark the show’s end, including Bev Elliott (Granny), Lee Arenberg (Grumpy), Tony Amendola (Geppetto), and Keegan Connor Tracy (Blue Fairy). JoAnna Garcia Swisher (Ariel), Robbie Kay (Peter Pan), Sean Maguire (Robin Hood), and Victoria Smurfit (Cruella de Vil) will also be back in the final season.
“Seven years after we set off on this magical journey, we prepare to say goodbye to the cast, crew and writers that made the ‘happily ever after’ that is Once Upon a Time possible,” executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis said in a statement to EW. “We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to say farewell than by reuniting so many of the characters that our fiercely loyal fans spent years with on their adventures. We hope everyone joins our Once family, old and new, for what we hope will be the sendoff of a lifetime befitting this stellar cast and its incomparable fans.”
Once Upon a Time airs Fridays at 8pm ET on ABC. The series finale is set to air in two parts on May 11 and May 18.
