OMG, Kelly Clarkson Was Rushed Into Appendix Surgery HOURS After Hosting the BBMAs

• Kelly Clarkson underwent surgery on her appendix just hours after hosting the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday night, saying she was “broken down in tears after the show from pain.”

• Kelly flew home to Los Angeles immediately after the show and had surgery Thursday morning.

Don’t know if you caught the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday night (Taylor Swift performed and everyone thinks she ripped off Queen Bey...it’s a whole thing), but Kelly Clarkson absolutely killed it as this year’s host. However, her evening took an unexpected turn for the not-so-great when she broke down “in tears after the show from pain” and had to fly back home to Los Angeles immediately.

Turns out, Kelly had been experiencing appendix pain all week, and she had surgery at Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center first thing Thursday morning-just hours after hosting the Billboard Music Awards. Kelly confirmed the news on Twitter in response to a fan, assuring everyone that she’s “feeling awesome” post-surgery. Which, phew.

“Not gonna lie...I may or may not have broken down in tears after the show from pain,” she wrote. “BUT thanks 2 all the amazing people @ Cedars-Sinai, I flew home directly after the event, nailed the surgery early this morning, & feeling awesome now! Bye bye appendix #TheShowMustGoOn.”

According to People, Kelly is scheduled to film a live episode of The Voice on Monday-which is just three days from today. Here’s to hoping she gets some rest between now and then, because dang.
