Olivier Rousteing Unveils a Partnership With Barry’s Bootcamp

If you’ve spent a day with Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, you’ll know that working out is central to his routine. Until this month, Rousteing had to jet to Milan to take part in one of his preferred workouts, Barry’s Bootcamp. But on June 23, Rousteing—and the rest of his Balmain Army—will be able to sprint and squat in the City of Light with the opening of Barry’s first Paris location. What’s more, the workout company is marking the opening with an exclusive partnership with Rousteing.

The designer has created a selection of OR-worthy athleisure that will be available only in Barry’s Bootcamp’s Paris gym. Ranging from hoodies to shorts, the collection fuses Rousteing’s bold aesthetic—bright colors, statement graphics, a little glitz—with the ethos of the gym. (For the uninitiated, Barry’s is a rigorous combo of running and floor exercises that takes place in a red-lit room the brand describes as “a vibe.”)

“There are quotes on some of the pieces that are very true to Barry’s, like ‘Push Your Limits,’” said Barry’s Bootcamp CEO Joey Gonzalez over the phone from an Uber to JFK; he was headed for Paris, where Rousteing will put on his Balmain show tonight. “Given that Olivier has done the class so many times, he was really able to plug into what it is and who we are.”

Priced at 390 to 900 euros, the collaboration doesn’t come cheap—but it does come with a good cause. “One hundred percent of the proceeds go to an organization called Le Refuge, which is an organization selected by Olivier that provides social, medical, psychological, and legal support to young boys and girls who are victims of homophobia and transphobia,” Gonzalez explains.

“What is the most important about this collaboration is that all the money will go for charity,” Rousteing echoes in a promotional video. For those who can’t make the journey to Paris to get their hands on the garments, 12 items will also be available for auction on Barry’s site. The proceeds of the online auction will also go to Le Refuge.

Barry’s Bootcamp will open on June 23 at 84 Rue Réaumur, 75002 Paris, France. The Olivier Rousteing x Barry’s Bootcamp partnership will be available at that location and through an online auction, here.
